Do Adidas Sambae have a platform sole?

Does anyone know if Adidas Sambae trainershave a platform sole or is the gummy bit round the side just ‘deeper’ than on the Samba trainer?
I love the Sambae but really don’t want a platform sole? Has anyone got any and can let me know?

The sole is slightly higher than the sambas but it's not right up to where the rubber ends, your foot sits deeper down than that.
