I'd like to whiten my teeth a bit, without going down the route of having it done at the dentist if I can avoid it. I've been looking at the products like Colgate Max white products, but wondered if any of you have had any success with toothpastes or mouthwashes that are available to buy without a dentists?

The only people in the uk licensed to whiten teeth are dentist

The otc stuff will remove coffee/wine stains but won't whiten

Legally anything you can buy over the counter cannot contain enough of the active ingredient to whiten teeth.

All anyill do is remove surface stain by being abrasive or acidic or both. For this reason care must be taken in use because what can remove stain can also remove enamel.

in other words you can only whiten teeth by seeing a dentist.

The only stuff that will work is the stuff you get at the dentist. Once you’ve paid out and had the initial trays made, the syringes of peroxide aren’t that pricey. One of the best things I’ve done.
