Would opaque or navy tights go with this dress? And what shoes? Thanks!

Purchased for a pale 50 year old, size 14... Will not wear false tan ever (allergies and don't like the look of it anyway), but don't have the legs for going bare! Don't really like flesh-coloured tights and think they'd look a bit odd with the above anyway! Would opaque navy or black tights go okay, or sheer black tights, like 'Barely There Black'? If so, what shoes? Black or navy heels (not too high)? Top to toe navy seems a bit passe but then again fashion is not my strong point!
Any suggestions? Links would be great but can't spend too much. Thanks!

The flesh coloured tights would look best imo. I had a similar dress at Christmas and they looked better than any colour, and definitely not opaque. Navy low heels /sling backs would be nice.

I'd go black tights black shoes, I think navy head to toe can look dated.

Disagree about navy tights, sheer, not opaque navy or sheer nearly black will look better than flesh. Anything looks better than fake tan.

The only thing worse would be badly applied fake tan <why do SO many women go out like that?>
