Body oil recommendation

What is a lovely, scented and easily absorbed body oil.
I like citrus smells and tuberose(sp?).
I've been using Liha body oil but need something cheaper now.

I use the Byoma one which actually isn't scented but I then apply a scented body lotion on top to lock the oil in. The Byoma one isn't expensive and doesn't turn your bathroom into a death trap as it isn't all runny like most body oils!

@sunshinechaser thank you. I wonder whether I could add essential oils to a plain one? I dont want to use lots of products.

Nuxe - every time

CrossCountryWoosh · 16/02/2025 15:38

@CrossCountryWoosh thanks. I've just seen they have a shimmery dry oil. I'm off to investigate! 🤣

Clarins Tonic body oil and Dr Hauschka Lemon Lemongrass are both beautiful and fresh and smell really therapeutic. They may not work out much cheaper though.

I also love Palmers Coco Butter body oil which is priced much better. It’s very oily though so use sparingly unless you have very dry skin.

I use almond oil with a few drops of essential oils, different scents according to mood. It goes a long way!
My favourites are frankincense, patchouli and oud.

ThatshallotBaby · 16/02/2025 15:48

Korres is lovely. I have a peach one I’ve been saving it for ages!

CrossCountryWoosh · 16/02/2025 15:50

@StormingNorman thank you. I will look into Dr H.
I have used and liked Palmers before, but I try to be cruelty free now so it's not suitable anymore.

What? What do they do?

CrossCountryWoosh · 16/02/2025 17:51

@StormingNorman they sell to China so have to test on animals or pay other companies to test.

Aveeno oil surprisingly smells really good

FoolishHips · 16/02/2025 19:45

Just get some sweet almond oil (The Soapery on Amazon is cheapest) and add essential oils. Grapefruit, sweet orange, lemon and a bit of benzoin is really nice. Don't use citrus oils in the sun though.

I feel a bit queasy now. Something to think about.

Pancakeflipper · 16/02/2025 20:01

L'Occitaine Supple Oil absorbs well.

Nuxe aren't cruelty free either (since 2018 looking online)
Nuxe is one of my favourite scents , I can only love the smell on other people .

Though I have found a shower gel (Faith in Nature) that has a Nuxe-ey smell

I don;t use body oil (CBA) but I use a Rituals moisturisung foam on high days'n'holidays

CrossCountryWoosh · 17/02/2025 09:19

@70isaLimitNotaTarget yes, I realised that when I looked into it. 😔 Thanks for mentioning it in case I missed it though. Ah well, I don't know what it smells like so I'm not missing out on anything.

Stormingnorman Cruelty Free Kitty is a reliable website if you were interested. It's really hard though to work out where you stand on all the nuances though and very hard to be consistent. I just try to do my best.

If you follow Nina Poole on TikTok she shows how to make up a body wash using body oil and a small amount of unscented soap.

She used Palmers but you could use any brand I am sure.

I know this is not what you asked, but I am going to try it as I don't really like the feeling of straight body oil on my skin.
