I read the other long haul thread with interest. I know it will be very hot and humid and natural fabrics are king. The thing is, i’m 5’3 and a chubby apple so wide leg/loose/empire line clothes make me look huge.
i’d appreciate recommendations for ‘neat’ but cool natural fabric clothes (and if I don’t have to sell a kidney to but them that would be even better)

I was there for a month birdwatching in March. I wore Rohan cargo trousers and lightweight cotton shirts. As we were in rain forest, mangrove and marshes much of the time, long legs and long sleeves essential. I took a micro fleece for getting back into Heathrow and a waterproof, though the rain we had in Malaysia was warm and heavy.

That’s helpful, thanks. I’m not a shorts wearer so light trousers or dresses will be my thing. Also have a few nights more formal in Singapore so will have to think about that too.

I don't wear shorts either. Lightweight trousers and poplin shirts are ideal. I didn't wear a skirt so can't comment, but something smarter for Singapore sounds lovely.
