Does such a slipper or indoor soft shoe exist?!!

We have a young puppy who is drawn to all my lovely cosy sheepskin slippers like catnip. Actually shat on my Celtic & Co ones first week home Confused

So I've stopped wearing them and just doubled up on thick socks instead.

Unfortunately I think a combination of this and I'm not supporting my feet (not leaving the house much at mo so also not wearing outdoor shoes often) means I'm suddenly feeling pressure spots under my toes which are getting painful.

So I'm looking for a pair of slippers or house shoes (I sound so old right now!) which are fairly plain and inoffensive looking, hard-ish soles a bonus but not too essential (can pop him out for a garden wee more quickly) and not too expensive as hopefully this housebound stage will only last until he's had his second jab).

Oh and true to size as I'll need to do online as can't get out to try on:return easily).

Hit me with your beautiful suggestions, S & B peeps 😁

I have a pair f bootee style slippers from here

Amazon.co.uk: LongBay

The soles are hard enough to go outside and they last for ages. I've had my current pair for nearly 3 years now. Prices are good too.

These ones look good

Birkenstock slippers are lovely.

Oooh they are . Also quite ££ for what I'd hoped to pay. Maybe this time next year when my furry piranha has grown up

Sketchers Go Walk
I find them very supportive

Printedword · 14/02/2025 14:56

Haflinger are excellent, but a bit pricey. They do last for a long time though

tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz · 14/02/2025 14:57

So yes - need to have absolutely no outer embellishments whatsoever or visible fur when on. But also be warm and cosy.

I'm destined to look at the adverts in Readers Digest aren't I 😁

I'm pretty certain Crib Stop is safe for dogs - sorry not got a bottle to hand to check, but it's a clearish spray you could put on your slippers and it tastes disgusting to animals so stops them eating things they shouldn't like the door of the stable or fence posts. https://www.naf-equine.eu/uk/care/crib-stop

You can get dog specific products like this too, but expect to pay up to twice the price for half the volume (because it's dogs, profiteering from inflated prices)

Bear with me but I'm wearing these at the min
Often a discount code or sale, I paid about £7 for them
The sheepskin doesn't show when wearing as it's inside and the sole is solid (I've been to the supermarket in them!)

I've had homies slippers have have for the past 4 years, as have all the family on my partners side. Really comfy (though look meh)

Lilsoph · 14/02/2025 15:27

I bought a pair of Karrimore trainers in sport direct fairly cheap which I only wear in the house instead of slippers. I’ve done this since wfh during covid. Comfy and great support.

OrsolaRosso · 14/02/2025 15:29

Have a look at Pavers. Huge selection of this sort of slipper shoe, at very reasonable prices.

EveryDayisFriday · 14/02/2025 15:36

I wear very cheap soft shoezone black trainers that are my "indoor shoes", except for nipping to the bin. I bought them because I often have to rush from my home office upstairs to the front door for deliveries and slippers were doing me no favours on the stairs.

SnoopySantaPaws · 14/02/2025 15:43

@tellmewhenthespaceshiplandscoz

for the last few years, I have been wearing the boots. They advertise on Wowcher they are advertised as snow boots, but they're more like slippers.

They're only 15 quid so worth a try only two downsides
1 my friends lab had a bit of the chew on one while I was wearing it but I didn't realise I thought he was just sleeping on my foot

2 I have totally ruined the carpet in front of the so far where I sit, but you need to be mindful of that which ever pair you buy these are a very soft rubber sole completely fine for outside. (as they designed for the snow)

Google boojay boots loads of suppliers, dead cheap on shein timu etc but still cheap at the range etc.

really comfy!! Some have BJ label on some don't can easily be snipped off.

JC03745 · 14/02/2025 16:21

I just have a plain of slip on, croc type (aldi) shoes at the door for outside in the garden with the dog. My slippers remain inside and clean for when we come back in.

Otherwise, can't you put the slippers out of reach if going out and wearing day shoes?

CherryMarigold · 14/02/2025 16:31

M&S have some felt ones in that look comfy yet bland.

Those navy leather ones though 😬

SnakesAndArrows · 14/02/2025 17:05

Nordikas? Fluffy on inside but smooth leather on outside, and proper soles. I WFH most of the time and live in mine.

redstripestar · 14/02/2025 22:50

You'll also need to train the dog lol... I took mine when I went to visit family and they came back covered in dog slob.

MaMisled · 14/02/2025 23:02

Crocs! My 13 month old puppy has tried x tried to gnaw mine and has failed miserably!
