Black and cream white work dresses

I'm starting a new job and need a new new wardrobe. Looking for boring black and creamy white dresses. Small to medium pattern.

Or black patterned dresses no more than 75% black. I don't suit black basically. I'm a spring season and look best in the bright colours but that's hard to create a professional wardrobe with.

Saint Tropez at John Lewis has a few but looking for any recommendations or dresses.

Style wise I'm an hour glass and average height. Don't mind too much on the shape or length but small to medium size pattern. If its a midi then the print looks better if its medium size if that makes sense. The ability to pull the sleeves up is important, as that can help with styling and looking less frumpy.

Thanks in advance!

I agree you can use bold colours. I love had some real professional successes in bold colours. The cut, fabric and overall style have far more influence about how professional you look than the colour IMO. A green suit with a nice shirt looks way better than poorly cut black 'office' trousers or a dress cut from poor-quality fabric.

Indulge yourself OP. 😁

BTW - if you can stand the faff of going to the toilet, jump suits are a great alternative and can look really smart, especially on someone with an hourglass figure like yours.

Thanks!

What is this jumpsuit of which you speak? Do you have a link to one? I struggle a bit with them as I have a long body - even if it works when standing I will get a wedgey when I sit down. It probably needs palazzo style trousers to work.

I found a couple of dresses in Boden which are quite bold - you have encouraged me a bit now.

I've been on a merry go round of trying on polyester crap and curve shaped jumpers in Cos. I found a blazer in Tu which I bought in a larger size - to be fair it does look quite funky in a slightly more oversized cut, but it's dark navy and I'm eyeing it up and thinking it doesn't fill me with joy - I think you have to love clothes to reach for them again. I'd rather swop it for a black one. Other than dresses my main item is my black M&S wide leg trousers, so I'm also looking for boring black and white tops.

I will keep a look out for an amazing bright green suit haha.
