I am looking for a really dramatic, volumising mascara.

Recent tries have been Mac stack (which I did like) and Lottie London (which was ok) but very interested in other recommendations!

Benefit they're real

MooDengsFatRolls · 11/02/2025 15:28

I've gone back to the Lancôme Hypnose ones after straying to Eyeko, Chanel and Laura Mercier, don't know why I'd not stuck with them.

FeelingSoOverwhelmed · 11/02/2025 15:29

Oh I had forgotten about Lancome, and I love their foundation. Worth a look!
I could not get on with Benefit for some reason, I just found it underwhelming on my lashes.

Lancome hypnose doll eyes. I use the waterproof as it's the only one that doesn't end up down my face in cold wind or pollen!

Iwantamarshmallowman · 11/02/2025 15:31

I really like Essence Lash Princess. You can get it on amazon for about £5 or £6. I've tried every expensive mascara going, and none of them are worth the price.

Waterboatlass · 11/02/2025 15:32

I've tried all sorts and always come back to lancome

IBloodyLoveMyBlanket · 11/02/2025 15:33

Elf Lash n Roll. Cheap as chips, gives lots of colour/definition without clumping. I'm not a fan of the clumpy look.

Millymollymine · 11/02/2025 15:33

I’m loving Chantecaille Longest Lash Faux Cils Mascara. It’s expensive but I bought a couple of sample sizes from Vinted to try it out before I spent in a full size one.

CarliLove35 · 11/02/2025 15:34

I've been using My Amazing Lashes by Wowcombo cosmetics and it's fabulous.

StillCreatingAName · 11/02/2025 15:36

Following with interest- menopause is not kind to your lashes and so I’ve scaled up in price for treats with hope they will lift as promised, only to find cheaper ones that have been around for years still work miles better!

smallsilvercloud · 11/02/2025 15:36

Maybeline Firework or Sephora size up is good.

FeelingSoOverwhelmed · 11/02/2025 15:38

Thanks for all the suggestions! I have gone with Lancome as boots had a gift set on offer and will maybe try some of the cheaper suggestions too 🙏

Too faced - Better Than Sex... I've tried so many others and this is still the best i find for volume. its quite dry so packs on if you know what i mean.

The new charlotte tilbury is quite nice too, but, nothing has made me switch from Better than Sex for years.

Benefit they're real

I'll second this it's really good. Layer it for more impact.

34NotDeadYet · 11/02/2025 15:53

The new L’Oréal Lash Paradise Big Deal mascara is really excellent - I’m a huge fan of the original one as I like lots of separation/feathery soft lashes still with volume, and the new version adds in drama/length but still without clumping. Longevity over the day is good too, doesn’t rub off and lashes stay ‘up’.

Cesarina · 11/02/2025 16:23

L’Oreal Air Volume Mega Mascara!

crackadawn · 11/02/2025 21:13

Hourglass is amazing, it doesn't move

I bought the Lancôme faux cils mascara primer and it’s turned every one of my mascaras into an absolute winner. Takes a couple of seconds to bang on before mascara and it’s had a positive effect on the condition of my lashes I think.

I have a Charlotte Tilbury Push Up Lashes mascara that I really liked but would melt and give me panda eyes halfway through the day and this primer has stopped that.

ASDnocareer · 12/02/2025 01:00

Loreal telescopic is my favourite. I love the skinny wand, as it makes it easier to apply neatly, can coat all of my lashes (harder with chunky wands) doesn’t clump and it’s really nice formula, not too wet. Separates all lashes well and lengthening. I love how this looks and feels on. No issues with smudging either and I’m quite prone to smudges

I don’t see much point of spending so much on mascara as you’re supposed to throw it out every 3 months. Hourglass is £32?! (I have history of blepharitis so follow ophthalmologists advice)

I agree with Maybelline firework. Feels nice on and easy to remove. Looks good.

Wheezyweez · 22/03/2025 09:14

Farmasi have some amazing bank balance friendly mascaras ranging from daily ones to dramatic ones.

If anyone wants more info I'd love to help x
