Bodysuit for under dress?

I have this Reiss dress that I bought for work black tie dinners - I tend to go to one or two per year, so I wanted something classic and stylish, but not striking enough that I can't wear it multiple years. I don't go to enough of these dinners to be buying new evening gowns every year.

However, the V cut, post breastfeeding, is just too exposing for a professional context these days.

Any suggestions for a nice bodysuit or something I could add to preserve some modesty? I don't want to look like I'm just showing my bra, or take too much away from the dress.

For what it's worth I'm 5'5 and a size 12, 36Cish.

If the dress is as fitted on you as in the picture, I'd have thought a body suit would show. Maybe get a modesty panel fitted instead.

Yeah, it will show - sorry that's the point, I'm kind of looking for a bodysuit (or bralette?) not sure what to google! That provides a kind of modesty panel without it looking like I'm just showing my bra.

I think you risk that anything you add, whatever you call it, is going to look like showing a piece of underwear.

A modesty panel will just look as if you're scared to wear the dress as it was designed to be worn. A body suit will be indistinguishable from a bra for anyone looking at you.

You could try tape to hold things in place and large, long, dramatic piece of costume jewelllery.

I would take it to a seamstress and get either a panel in the exact same fabric added or have it stitched up to a depth you're happy with personally, then it'll remove the potential lumps + bumps from having some sort of cami underneath!

I would try and stitch it or pin it higher to cover my bra. I think it wouldn’t look right if you have something underneath it.

what about something like this to soften the neckline a bit?

I think other than a professional alteration that might be the one that works because of the very obvious difference in texture but still showing skin.

The other body suit might look as if OP is wearing a swimsuit under her dress.

A massive necklace?
