Skincare routine for rosacea

Trying to improve my skincare regime as feeling like I’m suddenly aging (45). I also have rosacea (non pimply type) & have been prescribed Rosex cream.

I just bought on the recommendation of 2 friends some Inkey List products - serum / retinol / moisturiser.

Sadly my face feels like it’s burning after applying the serum & moisturiser. I’ve only done a test patch of the retinol but not sure I dare use it on my face. My rosacea has flared & is bright red & angry. The serum says to apply before anything else but assume I should apply after my rosacea cream & not before?

Any recommendations for other products to try? I have dry skin, not oily, & also suffer with eczema/contact dermatitis. I’m starting to get deep wrinkles on my forehead as well as fine lines around the eyes. The only cream I’ve found that doesn’t seem to irritate or burn is a cheap garnier day cream but not sure it’s doing enough for me now. I feel like an old hag.

I’d avoid retinoid type things while your skin is reactive. The best I’ve found is Cetraben cleanser and LRP Toleriane serums and Avene anti redness.

Long time rosacea sufferer here. You definitely need to get the rosacea under control before adding anything else into the mix.

give the prescription about 2 months and use something really really gentle like Ceravie Avene, or similar as a cleanser/ moisturiser.

then when rosacea and any sensitivity is under control gently introduce the actives…

I've had rosecea for years. Only thing that cleared the rash spots and the burning redness was soolantra. I paid for a private prescription and then my GP took over.

It took a long time working with a dermatologist (again private) and introducing only one new product at a time. He recommended Medik8 and it really works for my face. I use their calmwise foam cleanser, their calmwise serum, advance day protect SPF50 during the day and advanced night restore each night.

I've managed to add in press and glow once a week for texture issues and very low does (level 1) crystal retinol every second night with no adverse effects. I have facials every 6 weeks using Medik8 and LED lighting.

I have used aveeno oat gel moisturiser in the past with no issues.

I would try the soolantra.
