Going out outfit for when it’s cold? ⛄️ Help!

I really struggle with this. I’m in Scotland so it’s chilly for quite a good chunk of the year. And I hate being cold! During the day it’s fine as I load up on layers and jumpers. But if I’m going out in the evening to a friends for dinner or a restaurant I want to be a bit smarter. These places are still often quite chilly - drafty houses and restaurants the last few times I’ve been out. 🥶 What do others wear that’s stylish? I normally like a silk shirt/ dark or black jeans and a blazer type look. But I’ll be freezing wearing that in the winter.

I'm also in Scotland, and struggle with this too. I just bought this top, which is very cosy, and wore it tonight with jeans and another layer underneath. You could wear it with a skirt and boots for a smarter look.

A sweater dress in a dark colour.

A black cashmere jumper.

Judging by what I saw at Glasgow Central station earlier, a few scraps of thin black material tightly covering part of the torso but barely covering the buttocks, bare legs, heels. I was shivering just looking at them!

I was out for lunch today, sat on for a while afterwards, then on to theatre. Wore this dress with a long sleeved red thermal top under it and the Eribé cardigan over it, red opaque tights and flat black lace up boots.

Hi thanks. I’m kind of off jumper dresses as I’m a bit self conscious of my stomach . I do have a black cashmere jumper, maybe I need to get it back out. Thanks.

I do have quite a lot of Toast stuff but it tends to be daywear. Evening I tend to go a bit sleeker.

I was watching morning TV the other day and the woman was wearing a black roll neck underneath her l leopard maxi dress. Would that work with tights and boots?

Get yourself some fleece leggings from Primark or something thin base layers to wear under clothes.

Thermals all the way. I have a selection of M and S long sleeved thermals and wear them under everything ; They're all bought 2 or 3 sizes below the size I am to fit close so they don't add bulk under a dress or jumper. And a full slip if dress isn't lined and waist slip under unlined skirts.

I have a long thermal black top underneath the cardigan & I wear fleece leggings underneath the skirt. To say I am all toasty would be an understatement but I feel great as the skirt is flattering and the cardigan as you see I love the way they have placed the buttons. All you need is a lovely pair of black boots, these are mine and I feel like I am walking on air.
