Need an easy skin care routine

Hi. Am late 50s with reasonable skin, some blemishes and a little dry at times. I have never had a proper skin care routine so what would you recommend?

Do you wear make up daily ?

Do you want everything from the same range or do you want to pick from various ?

What makeup do you wear? Which skin type are you?

In either case, you'll probably need a cleanser, moisturiser, sunscreen and night cream.

The best cleanser ingredients include some form of exfoliant and salisylic acid. Paula's Choice do a brilliant one for £10. This will help stop your blemishes and improve skin texture. It may tingle a little if you tweeze or shave, but stick with it.

Moisturiser with hylauronic acid and glycerin. The Ordinary is the classic for £6. You can spend more to get one with peptides in too. This plumps your skin and gives it more volume.

Night cream either with retinol or retinoid. Retinol is low-strength, retinoid medium-strength. Medik8 is a good retinol, but the effects wear off if you don't use it every day. Personally I'd recommend retinoid as it can be applied less frequently and lasts longer. The most effective / popular retinoid is tretinoin, which Monderma sell. I like theirs as it comes in a vegan base with hyaluronic acid and peptides. It costs £24. Tretinoin reduces fine lines and pigmentation.

You don't need the Paula's choice BHA acid unless you have spots as PP

You would use AHA glycolic acid instead

OP mentioned blemishes, which presumably means spots? So BHA would be more appropriate.

If not, AHA I agree!
