Grey Blending

I've just turned 40 am going very grey, very quickly! I'm naturally dark haired and I'm fed up of the cost and time involved trying to maintain it so I'm considering having grey highlights to blend it in and make it as low maintenance as possible. I've had blonde balayage before and really didn't suit it at all so I'm bit concerned that this'd be the dame but I need to do something as it looks terrible!

Has anyone else gone from brunette to grey via highlights? Did you like it?

I am fully grey now.
i didn’t get highlights or anything.
for the grow out I jut continued to colour the parting and when it had grown out enough I just changed my parting and never coloured it again

I did it! I had been dyeing my hair brown forever but hated the regrowth. On my hairdressers advice we cut my hair short to get rid of a lot of the dyed sections and I had previously stopped dyeing my hair for 3 months so she could see where my greys were naturally. Then she dyed my hair grey as a balayage. I’ve actually now completely grown out the grey balayage and now have natural grey highlights but I would never have got here without making the plunge to having my hair dyed.

Personally I love it. The grey dyeing is a little harsh but I had been dyeing my hair very dark so there was a fair bit of peroxide involved. But I haven’t dyed my hair in over a year now.
