What to wear to a business trip to Sweden?

I am going over to Stockholm, then train to a smaller town, 2 days, 1 night. All my nice boots are with a heel, I am not sure I can last in them from early dawn through all this moving about. I have smart white trainers and black loafers but feel like Sweden in February requires boots. Am I right, should I get a pair of flat boots?

Yes of course you need flat boot

Chelsea boots or combat boots are smarter, sorel are more practical.

I read the thread title as a business trip to Swindon 😂

(Sorry I can't help)

Something warm, comfortable and sturdy that will cope with ice or snow if necessary.

Flat boots? Good quality leather trainers?

IHaveAlwaysLivedintheCastle · 08/02/2025 05:57

Yes. Flat boots. Not trainers.

BillyNoProblems · 08/02/2025 07:35

Definitely flat boots. Swedish people generally dress smart casual at work so flat boots will fit right in plus you won't risk breaking your legs walking around. Try Ecco for well made, comfy boots

Thank you, all.

@LostWithoutDottyP I went to Swindon few weeks ago, wore small heel court shoes, not that it has anything to do with the original question 😂

Possibility of snow and ice so boots with a decent grip and a warm coat!

LostWithoutDottyP · 08/02/2025 09:50

😂 A perfect choice for Swindon I would say!

I highly recommend Ecco Chelsea boots
I have 3 pairs of their ankle boots and all are worth every penny

You need winter boots. Don't even attempt to totter in heels as snowfall can come quickly. Dark jeans and a shirt will be plenty smart enough.
