Talk to me about collagen supplements for those 40+ …..has anyone seen actual results in helping ageing skin or are they a complete waste of money?

I've watched/listened a few science programs that say not. It says that collagen is just a protein so you will digest it and turn it into amino acids and your body will use those amino acids for whatever it feels is most important, which is probably not your wrinkles.

But then loads of people swear by them.

I've seen some people say they down one just before they go out for an extra glow - that's just daft.

Following to hear peoples experiences. I'd like to give them a go.

I take two 833 mg tablets daily, and have for a few years. But I also have a fairly good skin care regime and diet, so I can't say I noticed any remarkable difference solely linked to the supplements. Studies are inconclusive, since collagen can also be used by your body for bone and joint strength.

But it certainly isn't bad for you. If you are considering supplementing your diet with collagen, maybe take some before and after pictures of hair, nails and skin. Give it at least 3-6 months for any difference.

hi. i've been taking Collagen supplements since October last year. i'm 45. mainly as a preventative measure pre menopause, and mainly for joint and bone strength. however, i have noticed a definite increase in hair quality. and i have less spots on my chin and jawline. i won't be cocky enough to say this is all down to the collagen, but i'll be keeping it up for now!
