Black tie type event- not a dress, not a jumpsuit, but trousers

Hi wise people
I have an upcoming black tie meal followed by dancing. Then another garden type ball
5'7, size 10, 32G boobs, in reasonable shape, but the normal peri bulges that I cannot shifts I don't wear heels much higher than my Dr Martens
I would wear a long dress, but I fancy something different
I don't like jumpsuits as the middle is never in the right place and I have not mastered going to the loo without fear of them absorbing whatever is on the floor
I am thinking of wide leg or straight trousers , with maybe a cami and a jacket
Love the idea of velvet, but Corey about it creasing whilst sat down at the meal
I love bright pink, dark green, navy or black. Patterns don't love me

Can anyone suggest fabulous trousers with cord jackets - a bit dressy, a bit alternative, but nothing that would make my teenagers too horrified?

Over the holiday period a few people posted links to a velvet suit by one of the supermarkets - either Tesco or Sainsbury’s - that apparently looked far more expensive than it was.

Im similar figure to you but wee bit taller - 5' 9'. I bought this suit Tailored Satin Slim Leg Trousers | Karen Millen in black - and got a velvet black waistcoat, and wore a white tuxedo shirt underneath and a tie. I wore black lace up brogues with it. I thought I looked banging.
