Presentation at Windsor Castle - What to wear?

DD is going to receive a Scout award at Windsor Castle later this year and I don't know what to wear. I am guessing that the dress code will be formal, so I will have to go shopping before then!

I am 5 ft 2" and mostly live in jeans, and any smart wear I have is either too business like or more suited to a summer wedding. I am happy in either trousers and a top or a midi length dress.

Any ideas or inspiration on what is worn on this sort of occasion please?

The presentation will be in April.

Anytime I’ve been to anything like this it’s quite weddingy, tho I guess Scout awards are going to be less formal than rocking up for an MBE.. maybe skip the hat.

Thanks.

Think wedding for something like this

Wedding but no hat

Okay, so it looks like I'll treat it like a wedding but skip the hat.

Dress for the weather. You will be outside the whole time . The young people go into the chapel and the service is broadcast to parents outside. There is then a parade in the square and parents are stood around the edge. The royal guest comes out and talks to them whilst they are all stood in their ranks. I made the mistake of wearing heels that were far too high for the time we were stood around for.
Remember you will also need to walk over cobbles and grass. This is 6 years ago so I’m not sure if things have changed.

Congratulations to your DD that's a lot of effort she's put in to achieve that!
