its my darling DH’s funeral next Friday

im 58, 5’5” slightly overweight (ie bit of a spare tyre round the middle).

black washes me out, I look good in Navy. I want a dress and a formal coat.

i can’t find a thing I’d like to wear, looking online, don’t feel like venturing to the shops but I know I must as really it’s the only way to get something now.

I am so sorry for your loss. I may be way off mark here but when my DF died my DM and i decided to wear pretty dresses we had worn to a recent wedding to his funeral so we could remember him at a happier time. Have you got anything he liked seeing you wear and that means something for both you and him that you could wear instead of buying something new?

Please ignore me if you are set on a new outfit.

I'm so sorry OP, the shopping opportunity no one wishes to have.

Here are a couple of spendy options from the Fold, beautifully tailored. There are also Jackets if you would prefer

Otherwise if you can get to a John Lewis, their personal shopping option is great or they should at least have Hobbs, Ralph Lauren etc ranges in

Both John Lewis and m&s can get stuff to you very quickly. I like Jaeger at m&s for coats. I wouldn't worry too much about the colour as long as it's smart. Order loads, you've got plenty of time to return them. Might be quicker and easier than going to the shops and trying to find stuff in your size.
Do you want to wear a dress, or smart wool trousers, smart sweater? Stick to plain, simple styles, good fabrics.

Sorry OP I'm useless at links, but there are lots of navy dresses like the one Defiantly posted, if you Google something like John Lewis navy dress. Including a Ralph Lauren one at house of Frazer, and some at Boden.
One thing I did for my mum's funeral was to find a really lovely scarf to wear, I found it comforting somehow.
