Hi folks, I’ve been using an expensive tubing mascara for a few years and it’s been wonderful no more panda eyes. Elf have bright one out and it’s only £7.00 been using it for a week and I’m a convert, just wanted to help others save £££.

I've been using the Elf one with the green cap for about a year. It's great value.

Crojo · 31/01/2025 09:11

Thank you, I like Elf make up. Can I ask what it's called? I've been wanting to try a tubing mascara but they aren't all labelled as tubing

Superwomann · 31/01/2025 11:34

I would like to try one as well but I hate taking mascara off, does this one come off with just soap and water alternatively with face wash?

I think OP means this one - it's great, better than all the expensive ones.

Yes!! Why the heck don't they label them as tubing. You have to read descriptions to see if it says 'washes off with warm water' to know. It's mental.

@Crojo I'm currently using this though which is also excellent - a more natural finish than the elf one. And £3 was taken off at the till so £11. It takes a bit longer to dry than most though so slightly careful application is needed

I also recommend the elf one

After my favourite L'oreal one was discontinued have switched to elf and happy with it.

and it comes off with warm water.

Great thank you I'll have a look Smile I've got a No7 money off voucher somewhere!

I'm currently using Maybelline Sky High which is very good, but I'm finding they dry up very quickly and start to smell off after about a month of opening.

I read this thread earlier today and went onto Amazon to order. It’s arrived already and I love it, so thank you @Happyearlyretirement

Happyearlyretirement · 31/01/2025 19:14

So happy to hear others agree. I think for years I’ve aloud myself to buy into all of he hype about cosmetics, now retired I need to be more careful with my money and I don’t feel the less expensive products are inferior.

I love the Elf one. I bought it after seeing a mumsnet email about it and have rebought a few times. It’s immovable even after a massive cry.

Rosietru · 31/01/2025 19:52

I love the elf one too, I bought it after reading about it on here. I was getting really bad panda eyes before, now nothing!

Ohnobackagain · 31/01/2025 22:39

I bought it about a month ago off Amazon and I agree @Happyearlyretirement

Goldleafcat · 01/02/2025 08:09

Thanks for the recommendation. When I discovered Clinique Lash Power mascara it was a revelation (no more panda eyes!) but it is a bit expensive. I have tried the Boots one which was okay but definitely not quite as good.

I will try the Elf one!

NigellaAwesome · 01/02/2025 09:59

Thanks for the recommendation. I use Trish McEvoy at the moment but I find it goes quite flakey.

BeStrongAndCourageous · 01/02/2025 10:06

Been wearing tubing mascara for nearly 20 years now and the Elf one is one the best I’ve tried - probably the best, for the price.

Oceangrey · 01/02/2025 11:06

Thanks for this, I am also using a £30+ one so will definitely give a cheaper alternative a go!

HereComesEverybody · 01/02/2025 11:17

I've been using the Elf one for well over a year now & it's a TOTAL game changer fir me. I was plagued with panda eyes all my life & used every expensive mascara on the market - all the same!

A few years ago I found maybelline one which was good but then discontinued. Then I found a v cheap Essence one for sensitive eyes in Itay which was OK but the Elf is fantastic

I've recommended it to several friends too

It's been out of stock for a while at my local boots so hope they get it back in again. I'm going to stock up as I don't want to risk running out

Bubblebuttress · 01/02/2025 11:22

What does the tubing mean?

Happyearlyretirement · 01/02/2025 21:11

Instead of painting colour onto your lashes it wraps them in colour. Amazing for those of us that always get panda eyes. When you wash it off you may think you are loosing eyelashes but it’s just the tubes.

Does it stop that spider eye effect when then stick together and look clumpy

Oceangrey · 11/02/2025 15:30

Wanted to come back and say thanks very much for the recommendation. It's probably even better than the Hourglass one I was buying and less than a quarter of the price for a tube! 🙏

Diggetydawg · 11/02/2025 19:11

I use this, it's the best mascara ever. I'll never buy another one
