Am I a good facelift candidate?

I'm only 45 and I'm already developing big, saggy jowls. I'm also losing weight at the moment so I can see this possibly getting worse as I lose more fat from my face. My mum has very prominent jowls and I worry that I'm starting down that road too.

When I've reached my goal weight, I'm thinking of enquiring about a lower face lift - I live in a town that has a very well-regarded clinic that offers this. What do people think - I'm aware I'm likely to be more critical of myself than others would be so I might be lacking perspective. Pictures below.

I think you look fine but then I always think everyone who posts here looks fine.

Maybe! It's hard to tell, as your face looks so different on Pic 1 compared to pic 2. You look 10 years younger on Pic 1 than you do on Pic 2. A little 'jowl lift' surgery won't hurt I guess. Good luck. Smile

Picture 2 looks different, yes.

ICriedAllTheWayToTheChipShop · 30/01/2025 16:22

Yes, sorry, that's the lighting. I was quite shocked by picture 2 myself because it's obviously not an angle I see myself from very much and it's much worse than I thought.

I was thinking of doing it this time next year so I'll stick with that and see how things look after more weight loss.

Your first photo does not show big saggy jowls! Your second photo does show the beginnings of jowls, but the lighting in each photo is different. I think you don’t need a face lift yet!
