Alternative to Elemis resurfacing pads?

oashh · 30/01/2025 11:20

I had a gorgeous facial a few weeks ago where the Elemis Dynamic Resurfacing pads were used (along with a LED red light mask). My skin felt fab afterwards and for some time. The facialist recommended getting the Elemis pads for home but I don't think I can justify the cost (£40 for 60 pads)...
Is there a cheaper similar alternative out there? Something else I could try for similar effects? Or should I bite the bullet and buy the Elemis pads?
TIA! x

Before I spent that much, I'd give some others a go, or use a brightening acid toner.

Personally, I think the pre-soaked pads are a rip off as they're just essentially toner. A bottle of toner and some cotton wool pads are much more cost effective.

I really love this mask once or twice a week too. It burns/stings a bit, so no need worry that something is wrong!

If you're going to start using acids, you must make sure you use a good quality SPF30+ (preferably 50) every single day.

OMG thanks! That must have taken some time to put down so thank you!

Korean skinscare do loads of toner pads for just about every skin care concern you can think of. They're often much cheaper or come in multiple packs when you buy from Korean sites.

Article below is just an example of a few.

If you really like these particular pads you could use them twice, so it would be £40 for 120 uses. I use some pads and my dermatologist said she uses the same ones but uses one side then puts it back in the pot (used side up so it's not touching the other pads).

bostonchamps · 30/01/2025 12:56

Second @MrsJHernandez - pads are a rip off, and I'm a huge fan of The Ordinary AHA and glycolic toner. My skin is quite hard core though, I've been using acids for a long time! If you're new to them you might get some sensitivity.

Side note Mrs H: have you tried the Carbon Theory vit c and glycolic toner? You might like it!

MrsJHernandez · 30/01/2025 15:16

@bostonchamps

I haven't tried the carbon theory- is it good? I've got pigmentation from the sun so it might be ideal.

I've currently got 3 acid toners on the go, so can't really justify adding a fourth into the mix at the mo!
