Solovair sizing question

I am planning to replace my Dr martens Chelsea boots... I am a size 7 there (and usually also in other shoes).

I am not quite clear on the solovair sizing after reading on their website. I plan to go for the astronaut boot if that make a difference. Are they true to size? Or is it better to go down half a size.

I sized down by half a size when I bought my Solovairs.

They advise that you measure your foot length then add 5mm.

If it helps, I'm normally a size 8. My Solovairs are 7 and a half and they fit perfectly. By contrast, an 8 in women's DMs are a tiny bit too tight on me.

If you're a 7 in a DMs women's style, I would size down. If you're a 7 in their men's styles, you're probably a 7 in Solovair. DM use 2 different sets of lasts for the women's and men's/unisex. I find Solovair wider that DM women's but narrower than DM men
