Forever on the hunt for jeans

I can never find a pair of jeans that I feel "nice".
I'm 5 ft 3 (just) so I can't buy standard length as they drag and anything petite is always just a little too short and I feel like they are very uncomfortable in the crotch area.
Im a size 12 with a bit of a mum tum now and my thighs are on the chunky side.
I have one pair of wide leg jeans from next that are ok on me but only really work with trainers for a casual look.
I'd love to feel good in a pair of jeans and be able to
achieve the "jeans and a nice top" effortless look for days out and about but I struggle to find a good fit.
i even tried going into a Levi's shop
past year prepared to spend some money but the sizes and styles just seemed so inconsistent!
Can anyone recommend any styles/brands that work for them?
Im ready for giving up completely and living in gym leggings and t shirts 😭

Oh I'm the same as you and I'll be watching this thread! I'm also very bothered by tight or restrictive waistbands lately, which most are given the mum tum. I used to live in jeans, but actually don't have anything wearable anymore ☹️

Also watching because I have the same issue!

I have a pair from gap that are perfect, but they're really quite old now and I live in fear of the day they go.

I always wear kick flare or bootcut as I'm short and have broad hips, and I feel like they balance my proportions nicely, if that makes sense. Wide leg usually swamps me, and skinny really draws attention to the way I really do taper like a carrot from the hips down.

I have never tried, but have heard good things about good American jeans? Has anyone tried a pair?

I don’t understand why you don’t buy the jeans you like and have them taken up at the hems?

I’m also 5’3 but possibly differently proportioned as I haven’t had to have jeans taken up - but I’m in and out of the local alterations service all the time with trousers, skirts, dresses.

Mass produced clothes are never going to fit everyone exactly.

I love the Wonderfit jeans from Asda!

I personally prefer bootcut so I have to order them as the shop never has them in. But, they're fab!

I like Agnes jeans from Hush. I just turn them up!

For a start it comes with an added expense,
second of all it's always hard to tell whether you like the shape of the jeans in the first place when they are the wrong length on you.
So you run the risk of paying the money to buy the jeans, get them hemmed and you still don't like them. Then because you've altered them you can't return them.
