Dress for family wedding after weight loss

I’m 5’6”, size 6 - 8, mid 60s, have Brillo-pad short cropped hair and fair skin, no boobs and some excess skin on my otherwise muscled arms. I live in jeans normally, and I own just one summer sundress and one wool midi jumper dress.

My niece is getting married in summer, a mainly outdoor do. I’ve lost a lot of weight since the last big family do, so I want a dress that will show off my figure. I’ll be wearing flat shoes, probably Mary Jane’s or ballet pumps. I always enjoy the fashion suggestions on MN, so I’m hoping for some useful options. Budget around £200, perhaps a little more for something truly wonderful.

Can’t resist showing you this. Double your budget but an extraordinary bargain and I’d buy it myself if I could fit into it. Even though it’s not really my colour. It’s a wear forever frock.

If you’re very slim, wearing flat shoes, and want midi rather than mini I’d lean in to the Audrey Hepburn aesthetic since it sounds like that would work well for you. Perhaps something like this:
