right, the wedding dress saga continues, and I have about 24 hours left, which do I wear and what with?!

Ok, had a hormonal strop and canned the topshop dress I was going to wear (for informal teeny ceremony on Thursday) and have now bought this top and this dress from Monsoon. Neither are maternity wear specifically but they both look alright.

Just not sure of the dress is a bit too OTT for a wedding that isn't going to be very weddingy. Plus it's quite expensive and dunno if I'd wear it much again.

The kaftan might be more practical but I dunno what to put on my bottom half and I need shoes!

And I literally have tomorrow afternoon to sort myself out, and then that's it.

Please help, any tips?

Aaaaah....thanks everyone!

Heated - ha, the undies are something else - I can't really wear a bra with that dress but fortunately the band bit at the top is tight enough to keep my ample norkage under control. (And I virtually never agree with going bra-less but I don't think there's any chance for unscheduled nipple appearances/general sagging!) Will have to find a respectable pair of white knickers though!

Am now wondering if silver nail varnish is too much (maybe just for feet) and the in-laws are now mentioning flowers/buttonholes. Which hadn't really occurred to me, and I dunno whether to bother now. Or even if there's time...

silver nail varnish sounds good..

A local florist should be able to sort you out with a hand held small posy and a button hole for dp (you may have to just go with whatever flowers they have in though). I'd leave your in laws and anyone else to sort out their own buttonholes if they want them

TheBlonde · 07/05/2008 08:13

It will take a florist no time at all to do you a bouquet and a few buttonholes
If you call one today they'd be able to sort it for tomorrow

MamaG · 07/05/2008 16:06

Oh yes a nice hand tied bouquet will not take long. Something "loose" and tied with that straw stuff would be fab rather than a formal bouquet IMO

I would highly recommend flesh coloured knickers (possibly a thong). I had a very lightweight wedding dress too, and white cotton knickers showed through dreadfully.

MamaG · 07/05/2008 16:21

My mum got married last year and as she was waiting for the car, she turned around adn I gasped at her "you have to take your knickers off!"

she didn't have any flesh coloured replacements so went commando

lolol at her

MrsTittleMouse · 07/05/2008 16:22

I actually considered it as an option (commando)! Unfortunately for DH, the flesh coloured thong worked out well.

notwavingjustironing · 07/05/2008 16:23

Dress is gorgeous. Silver accessories are a must though, maybe a little silver sequinned clutch too?

bohemianbint · 07/05/2008 16:39

OMG - flesh coloured knickers?! Hadn't thought of that, and going knickerless as well as bra-less is one step too far for me - I would literally be wearing 1 item of clothing!

Bugger, last minute mission called for. Thank you again for all the moral support and tips!

Just wanted to say - have a fantastic day tomorrow

Heated · 07/05/2008 22:41

Hasn't it crept up fast?! Best wishes for tomorrow . The dress is perfect, the weather is going to be gorgeous, just enjoy. Just remember to stop and savour it, it passes so quickly.

funnypeculiar · 07/05/2008 22:41

Dress is FAB - good luck thong shopping
