Help me find my style

I've always liked a certain way of dressing - not sure how you'd describe it but dungarees/overalls, big bold fleeces and printed tops, chunky trainers, think Charlotte from the Traitors a little bit. I love Lucy and Yak and suppose dressing like an overgrown toddler is the best way to describe it!

But I've never really need confident enough to carry it off fully. I own a few pairs of dungarees but I've never committed to the look for fear of looking daft. Since hitting 40 I no longer care and really want to embrace the styles that I like, regardless of what anyone thinks.

So could anyone give me any ideas where to start? I do love Lucy and Yak but can't afford to buy a full wardrobe from them. Any other cheaper but similar places I don't know about? Thank you x

Something like this? Granola girl quite hiking/outdoorsy, lots of denim and green/rust/90s ish? Or more colourful, like dopamine dressing?

I'd start by pulling together all of the bits that you already have and work out what's missing to make complete outfits. I'd also look on Vinted to fill in the gaps with affordable pieces from brands you like. Passenger do some fun 90s print fleeces, Joanie is good for vintage-inspired prints, and Sugarhill Brighton might hit that vibe as well?

Palava is sort of grown-up Lucy and Yak but is more expensive. You might find something on Vinted. Their clothes are really hard wearing.

I agree with the Joannie suggestion- like Lucy and Yak and Palava they also have cheerful, cheer you up clothes, although they're not cheaper than Lucy and Yak either.

Oooh, have you heard of Run and Fly? They do dungarees and dungaree dresses, as well as vintage style dresses, with fabulous funky prints. Definitely more affordable than Lucy and Yak!

I never knew that my way of dressing has a name (other than 'unfashionable'). So I'm a dopamine dresser. Cool.
