Jumpsuitophilia 🤷‍♀️

It's as though on every single thread asking for advice someone will suggest a jumpsuit in the first few replies.

I have never owned a jumpsuit, never will- not unless I start working for British Gas.

I don't see people in my circles wearing jumpsuits and I seldom see them for sale.

They're difficult to look good in unless you are a certain height and build. They're not flattering and you need a flat stomach which is often people's weakest area.

What is it with the jumpsuit love?

I have one I love, its very flattering.
ALthough Im not sure about the proper boiler suit looking ones, I have no idea how you style those without looking like you've come to read the meter!

amoreoamicizia · 22/01/2025 18:06

I'm sure there's some lovely ones, it's just they seem to be over-represented somehow.

I own loads from dungarees to strapless posh ones. What I love is that they're easy to dress up or down you don't have to coordinate tops and bottoms!
Ps I do get that they're a bit of a mare to go to the loo though in.

DontNeedAnyMoreClothes · 22/01/2025 18:15

I've got a few, from casual cotton daytime ones to dressy velvet ones. I love them - and I'm neither tall nor slim!

I love a jumpsuit, I have several... they're comfortable and (I think!) flattering even though I am neither tall nor slim 😂

This is the most recent one I bought last summer for my 50th birthday dinner with family... they're not all boiler suit inspired!

I have loads! Long sleeve, short sleeve, dungaree style etc. I also see loads. Wondering if you live/socialise in quite a conservative/quiet type area as I think they have been on trend for a good few years now so they are quite common.

I like them because they are just one item of clothing so no need to match tops and bottoms. Also for more dressy occasions I prefer trousers to skirts so they're a good alternative to a dress. I don't think you need a certain build or a certain type of body shape. It's just clothes. There's a cut out there for everyone 🤷

I have 2, one is a lovely summer one and has cropped legs and looks like a dress from the distance. The other one is jersey with long sleeves and legs. The problem with the second one is that DH managed to rip one sleeve and I can't think what to do with it.

Hoppinggreen · 22/01/2025 19:14

I shouldn't suit them BUT I actually have 3 that look really nice.

CremeEggThief · 22/01/2025 19:16

Surely people have the right to reply and suggest whatever they think.might work?
It's not as if they're doing it to deliberately upset you? OP !

I'm in the provinces so it's probably not filtered down here yet. I have noticed we're at least a year behind London and maybe even two.

I’m in the arse end of nowhere, and I love them, I have about three jumpsuits and a couple of dungarees
