Hi SnB regulars. I'm in the middle of perimenopause, looking to start a public facing job in the near future. My natural style is cosy comfort, hair natural (lots of grey at the front, natural dark behind), face slightly sliding away (!). I am short, a little overweight, with red tones to my skin (I blush/flush easily).
I've bought a MnS navy navy blazer with wide legged trousers and a simple collarless white shirt plus a few second hand satin blouses in nice colours. This is flattering and comfortable while looking smart (I think so at least!). I'm looking at some flatform trainers
Facewise, I've bought the highly recommended Hada Labo super hydrator and erborian CC cream. Think I might swipe a little raspberry lipstick but that's it. I find heavy foudation cakes into the pores and fold lines, and mascara/eyeliner itches and makes my eyes weep.
I have an almost shoulder length bob that needs a trim. I'd love a more modern or even slightly edgy cut but can't find the right style. My hair is thick and straight so I'm not sure layers would sit down.
I look/feel like death warmed up. I'm definitely looking more 55+ than 45+ and it's so depressing! I'm used to homely style, second hand clothes, no makeup and no one looking at me. I feel totally out of my depth. Any tips etc warmly received!
