Nose piercing

Is it possible to get my nose pierced with a clear retainer as the initial stud?

I really want my nose pierced however, visible facial piercings are not allowed at work.

A few people do have them at work and wear a clear retainer or take them out for the day. Their piercings are old and healed so it's not a problem for them. My issue would be having the visible metal stud during the healing period.

Anyone experienced that can offer advice on piercings?

i have a nose stud and sadly this really does sound a draconian rule for a little nose piercing. I’m afraid l don’t know the answer to this one, but as it’s a bit niche, you may get more help and support if you repost on the MN Tattoos board. It covers piercings and tattoos and their are lots of lovely people over there who are fonts of knowledge.

You could try wearing a flesh-coloured plaster over it while at work until it heals. Then switch it out for a clear retainer after that.

Unlikely you'll have a clear retainer for the initial piercing. They'll probably use a titanium stud, the retainers are meant for healed piercings

It really is draconian 😩 I was hoping my employer would join the 21st century soon but it's not looking likely.

Thanks for the advice, I had no idea that board existed. I'll pop over and ask there.
