Extremely chapped lips!

Hi all, been having issues for months with my lips being extremely chapped.
I’ve tried all manner of things from pure shea butter, Eucerin lip balm, various other ones that promise they will fix chapped lips.

Every morning I seem to wake up with chapped lips no matter how much greasiness I lather on the night before 😓

La Roche Posay - got this on Nadine Baggott’s recommendation and it really worked:

It's the best but currently unavailable as the company that manufactured it closed. Blistex are struggling to find another company to make it.

You can still get it in NZ - shall I send a bulk lot over? 😄

I use cream for cold sores and not lip balm/vaseline. I find lip balm just coats whilst cream actually sinks in. I've even been known to put hand cream on them when I'm desperate(that can sting though). Mine get so bad they actually split and bleed though.

Also drinks lots of water!

I've tried all the lip balms (fancy and not fancy) that PP have suggested (I love lip balms), and the absolute best I have used that keeps my lips moisturised, and if they're cracked makes them soft so the cracks don't hurt anymore, is lanolin.

I use lanolips during the day, keep them at work and in my pockets/bags. I love them, have several different ones. My favourites in terms of moisturising are the original one and the glossybalm, but the banana sheen one smells amazing (v moisturising but not as much as the other two I mentioned).

For bedtime I have a tube on lansinoh nipple cream. I put on a layer before bed and I wake up with actually soft lips that are still moisturised by morning. I never got that with any of the fancy lip balms, like the laniege sleeping mask. The next best alternative would be 8hour cream lip balm. Anything with a tingle will dry out your lips more.

I suddenly started getting very chapped lips last year.( along with dry hair and insomnia)

Nothing helped except HRT

Just in case you’re in that age bracket,OP

Thanks for the blistex hook up, not been able to find this for ages!

I’ve been using lanolips and it’s ok but still a bit greasy I find.

I had this recently. Turned out to be a fungal infection, requiring cream from dr. Dr advised only to use Vaseline due to potential allergies with perfumes and colours in other products.

I recently had really dry, chapped lips and tried the usual chapsticks but I found O'Keefs lip balm worked wonders really quickly. It's in an orange casing. I think it said it resists drinking etc as well. I used to apply last thing at night and first thing in the morning. Their hand cream and foot cream is amazing as well!
