Extremely chapped lips!

Hi all, been having issues for months with my lips being extremely chapped.
I’ve tried all manner of things from pure shea butter, Eucerin lip balm, various other ones that promise they will fix chapped lips.

Every morning I seem to wake up with chapped lips no matter how much greasiness I lather on the night before 😓

Good old Vaseline helps mine.

LBB2020 · 18/01/2025 23:49

Have you tried lansinoh nipple balm?
Could it be a reaction to something?

LittleGreenDragons · 18/01/2025 23:52

Try the old fashioned vaseline. You have to re-apply it several times a day but it really does work quite quickly.

Enough4me · 18/01/2025 23:53

O'keiffs the small orange pot use constantly it does help!

SleepPrettyDarling · 18/01/2025 23:53

Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream

Kielhs Butter Mask for lips.

It’s the only thing that has made a difference ever to mine. It’s expensive but SO worth it.

The only thing that works is Eucerin Aquaphor. Not the eucerin lip balm but the aquaphor skin balm, it's amazing

N0tfinished · 19/01/2025 00:14

Try changing your toothpaste. My son used to have terribly chapped lips & it turned out to be a reaction to toothpaste. Some of them can have harsh foaming agents. Also Aquaphor is the best lip treatment I've tried

Hayley1256 · 19/01/2025 00:16

I would try not applying any product to them, get a warm damp flannel and rub it onto your lips at night and in the morning. I never use lip balms, baseline etc amd my lips are never dry or chapped. I do wear lip stick or a lip stain every day though

Calyx72 · 19/01/2025 00:20

Laneige sleeping mask for lips changed my life. It will rescue your lips.

thaegumathteth · 19/01/2025 00:23

I had terrible chapped lips as I was in hospital for a while and the dry air etc. The thing that worked best unbelievably was a lip balm / scrub from primark. Couldn't believe how good it was. It's in a light blue lip balm tube thing.

AnniesMother · 19/01/2025 00:25

Blistex is amazing

Brody021 · 19/01/2025 00:28

I used to suffer with really bad chapped lips. Until I started using Carmix. I use it every night without fail. After a few weeks my lips have never been better.

BettyBardMacDonald · 19/01/2025 00:35

Coconut oil.

evilharpy · 19/01/2025 00:39

8 hour cream is amazing for chapped lips. There is a lip balm version but the one in the tube is just as good.

Thetrickcyclist · 19/01/2025 00:39

Lansinoh nipple cream as recommended by a PP. Another company makes one called Lanolips in a smaller tube, which is very similar but marketed specifically as a lip balm. However it's very expensive for a very small tube. Lansinoh isn't cheap but is a much larger tube so better value for money

zeddybrek · 19/01/2025 00:42

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream.

Vaseline made my lips so dry they were cracking and this fixed it.

CammyHammy · 19/01/2025 00:44

Vaseline actually dries my lips out and I constantly need to reapply. The same with other lip balms such as nivea and burts bees.

The only lip balm that has actually worked on my chapped lips is carmex. I have used it for years now and will never use any other brand.

Blistex is amazing

It's the best but currently unavailable as the company that manufactured it closed. Blistex are struggling to find another company to make it.

Anything that can get away with smelling that bad HAS to be effective. Though TBF I'd come to almost like it, I think purely due to the power of association between the smell and the miracles it worked on my lips.

Wendysfriend · 19/01/2025 01:01

'Cymex' I'm in Ireland but it may be available in the UK . I use it on my disabled DDS lips which are literally crusty from meds. Etc. It really is amazing.

LadyGAgain · 19/01/2025 01:12

Lanolin. Nothing beats lanolin. Get a squeezy lip tube that's lanolin based. Look up lanolips. It's amazing and also works in 35 degree summer sun.

FranticFrankie · 19/01/2025 01:34

Cymex- great stuff, the best thing I’ve used for my very dry lips

FictionalCharacter · 19/01/2025 01:43

Carmex, Burts Bees lip balm or Elizabeth Arden 8 Hour lip protector all work well for me. Without them my lips crack and bleed in winter.
