Ever Au? (Ugg type boots)

Have ordered a pair of these from Debenhams cause I got sucked in by their 70% off lies…having gone on the Ever Au website I can see they are selling them direct for £20 less, full price apparently and with free delivery.

Buyer beware etc and totally my fault for paying over the odds. I’ll return the Debenhams ones. But - has anyone got a pair? What do you think? Comfy? Worth it?

I’m a bit worried that they can make them so cheaply given they are suede and sheepskin…maybe they are a terribly unethical company?

UGG are unethical so I can only imagine.

If you're looking for something ugg like and ethical check out xantheanna.uk

What's the problem with Uggs?

Anothermathstutor · 19/02/2025 08:28

It’s important to distinguish which Ugg company you’re talking about.

uGg is an American company who ripped off the original Aus company as they didn’t have a trademark outside Aus. Their quality is below that of the original Ugg.

The Australian company was threatened by the American one so have since changed their name to Since 1974.

Since 1974 are the reputable and best “Ugg”

Animals are mistreated when they are seen as a commodity. Time is money and the process of removing their wool is often rushed and the sheep can end up with big gashes or injuries from being roughly handled. And that's just the wool. UGG use sheepskin so obviously the sheep are killed for this.

Yes but that's not unique to Ugg. The posts seem to imply that Ugg is less ethical than other companies selling similar products.

@Edwardandtubbs I've never worn the Ever Au boots, but I think one reason they're cheap is because they're made with separate layers of suede and lining, instead of real sheepskin. On trustpilot most of their reviews are 1*, might be worth looking there before you order.

@Anothermathstutor yes, there are lots of different sheepskin boot companies all over the world. Only those in Australia are still allowed to use the word Ugg

@Illpickthatup the suede in these Ever Au boots is also from a dead animal. The word ethical is going to mean different things to different people.
