I’m looking to buy my first Cartier ring a treat to myself , I’m no where near a store to try on sadly so will be buying online. Which out the two does everyone think also which finger on my right hand do they typically go . I am new to wearing fine jewellery but thought it’s a lovely treat to myself after a tough few years . I will download and print the size guide but am usually a U.K. J

any opinions welcome

They're both lovely but I adore the second one!! Doesn't too wedding ring like which the other one could do. Would look nice on the middle finger so it really stands out and as a bit too chunky for the other fingers.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 14/01/2025 15:11

The second one has been on my wish list forever, I'm obsessed! 😍

MsWintertowne · 14/01/2025 15:14

To be honest I think for something as personal as fine jewellery you’re better to choose the thing you’ve fallen in love with, rather than conducting a virtual poll of other people’s preferences. It’s not as if we can see the rings on your hand and comment on which we think suits you better.

Presumably there are reasons why you’ve picked these two rings from Cartier? Is there anything sentimental, or related to your family history or travels or whatever that draws you to one rather than the other?

(Don’t hate me but to me they never seem terribly … individual. Just the sort of jewellery people buy as a mark of being able to afford those recognisably expensive items. But they could well mean something more to you.)

I much prefer the Trinity. I have one and the bracelet.

InSearchOfMartin · 14/01/2025 15:21

My friend has the Trinity as her wedding ring.

Pandacubs · 14/01/2025 15:49

I like both that’s why I’m asking opinions, I do worry they look like wedding bands when this is just going to be a treat to myself ( I’m not married ) middle finger right hand for the trilogy then ? What about the love ring would that be middle or second to last . Thanks

I actually have both of these exact rings and wear them both daily. Love ring on fourth finger of right hand and trinity on my left middle. I think Love ring is great as a standalone as looks good stacked.

LetThereBeLove · 14/01/2025 16:33

The Trinity ring 100% worn on right hand next to little finger.

The Trinity ring 100% worn on right hand next to little finger.

Yes this, I don't like rings on the middle finger and don't like the love ring at all.

Tisthedamnseason · 14/01/2025 16:39

I much prefer the trinity one. It's really lovely.

The love one looks like it needs a flat head screwdriver, but that may be me being a philistine.

NumbersRule · 14/01/2025 20:47

I have the trinity ring and wear it as a thumb ring. It also fits on my middle finger so is versatile. There are a few different sizes of the ring so it is worth thinking about how you wear it. I thought I would like the chunkiest one but actually went for a slimmer version.

moonshinepoursthroughmywindow · 14/01/2025 22:15

I prefer the Russian style (three colour) ring and I would wear it on my right ring finger, which is my preferred finger to wear any kind of non-wedding ring on.

lenalove · 17/01/2025 15:14

I have the trinity (received as a wedding present from my parents a few years ago) and wear it on my middle finger right hand. Absolutely adore it!

HermioneWeasley · 17/01/2025 15:24

If you like the style of the trinity you can definitely get it cheaper - it’s a generic design. The love style is more distinctly Cartier.

Tcsha · 17/01/2025 15:25

I much prefer the first one. The second reminds me of 90s era Elizabeth Duke. I think it would look nice on the middle finger.

Pandacubs · 17/01/2025 19:53

Hmm still undecided both i really like

Absolutely this. The trinity is quite a generic style. I also think if you are spending on Cartier you should visit a store, they are lovely and really help advise what works.

RandomUsernameHere · 17/01/2025 20:25

I love the trinity, I wear mine on the ring finger of my right hand. They're both lovely though.

SallyWD · 17/01/2025 20:29

I really dislike the first one and really love the second!

MulberryPeony · 17/01/2025 20:33

I like them both but the second could easily be an Argos Russian wedding ring like my pal had at secondary school in the 1990s.

Mulledjuice · 17/01/2025 20:33

The second one, as PP have said, is a Russian wedding ring.

The first one made me think of a No Entry sign but flathead screwdriver is the one.

They are very different styles so pick one that YOU love not the consensus of strangers on the Internet - for all you know we look hideous and have terrible taste, or taste that is totally different from yours.

Urgenthelplease · 18/01/2025 04:32

I have a trinity and wear it on my middle finger. Used to have a normal Russian ring and they’re not that different beyond the engraving. But I do think the resale value is a lot with Cartier. I also bought a jus en clou and never adjusted to feeling the head digging in. People wear it on the second finger which I also didn’t like.

isthismylifenow · 18/01/2025 04:49

I'm not sure about the screw looking design on the first one. But I love the second Russian band.

If it is a well deserved, and not cheap treat to yourself, i would probably take a day out and travel to a store. I find I have to try jewelery on. I had my heart set on a particular watch and was about to buy online when I decided to take a trip to try it on first. I did and the watch did not look great on my wrist (wrong shade for my skin tone) and I ended up with one that I hadn't even considered. And I really love it.

Garlicnorth · 18/01/2025 05:04

I wear "a" trinity ring on my wedding finger. No particular reason, I just got used to the feel of it - and enjoy a residual sense of "fuck that nonsense, why should a finger be reserved for symbols of ownership" 😂

Anyway, congratulations on achieving the position of buying yourself lovely things! I would always go for the trinity, because I like them and also because the screw-head design is overdone and will soon be dated.

ADHDHDHDHD · 18/01/2025 08:15

Buy both?!
I would encourage you to go on a trip to your nearest Cartier shop to try them on to choose. As the weight and feel will be considerations.
