Clarins lip oils

Does anyone use these and if so would you recommend? I quite like the idea of them and there is a set in the Clarins sale. I also have a voucher to spend. I am in my 50s and no longer seem to suit lipsticks as my lips are narrower these days. They’ve changed over the years. Lipsticks and glosses now seem to bleed. Anyway, do you recommend them, if not is there an oil that you would suggest? I have seen Dior on social media but they seem super expensive.

I don't have any experience of Clarins lip oils specifically, but I have a couple of No. 7 ones and I love them. Teenager daughter got me on to them, she uses the Elf ones.

I have several of them (and got 2 in my advent calendar). They’re very nice, but if it’s colour you’re after, they’re probably not for you. I have several shades and they all look the same on (ie colourless).

I had one and was underwhelmed. It didn't seem that different to a gloss to me and no better than cheaper versions like the Elf or Bourjois lip oil.
I like the Versed lip silk if you're in the market for something moisturising and balmy with a hint of colour.
I'd spend the voucher on something else personally.

Thank you. I’ll take a look at something cheaper from Boots at the weekend.

I really like the new Nivea lip oils.

Does it have to be an actual lip oil or would one of the Clarins Lip Oil Balm's work for you?

I have bought two of them and they are really lovely to wear and might be an option for you

Thanks. Haven’t heard of those but will have a look.

I'm the same age as you, I have a couple of lip oils, they feel very nice but no colour really, even the ones that look quite pigmented in the packaging.

I'd suggest Lisa Eldridge lip gloss which are a kind of hybrid of lip oil and gloss. They're not sticky and the colours are lovely and actually last. Not as long as lipstick obviously but a decent amount of time.

Her lip pencils are also great for a bit of definition, I often use one all over my lips then use a clear lip balm, I like the glossier one, not too shiny and really lasts a while.

I gor a present of a Clarins Lip Oil and love it. But it definitely doesn't really add colour, just shows off your own colour, so if you are looking for a lipstick alternative, I'm not sure it's what you are looking for.

Tried their mini cherry one that came in a cracker as I didn't want to shell out full price. Underwhelming. No color payoff, vanishes off your lip quite quickly.not overly moisturising either. Clinique black honey has more colour and more protective for my lips, pink honey is also good colour wise. OP try elf oils or nyx fat oil clicker pens or tube version

It depends what you’re wanting from it. As a treatment oil it does nothing for me. As a colour on its own it makes lips look a little brighter (mine are pale and a bit blue toned so they look better with this on). Generally I wear it as a gloss over lipstick. If you have long loose hair it will stick to it. For just a gloss I’ll be being a cheaper one . I’ve got the Clarins in 3 shades and only really like the raspberry one.
