Help needed, what shoes for this occasion?

I've got a black tie event at the end of Jan full of big wigs from work and want to feel confident. I've splashed out on a teal midi length velvet dress from Hobbs that is very flattering but am struggling with shoes.

I need to wear black tights under the dress and am looking for a bit of a heel but am still rehabing a partially torn achilles busted around 6 months ago. I definitely can only do a block or wedge heel, ideally a platform. I don't want the shoes to be too high or I run the risk of a new tear. I just can't seem to find anything that isn't frumpy!

Budget up £150ish for something leather and wearable at other events. Dress has a 1920s ish vibe and I'm open to unusual, statement or eccentric options.

Any ideas folks? I've been living in Docs, air max, and Fly footwear for the last six months and need some inspo please !

Thanks so much for the suggestion. There's a couple of styles there that could work but would love something with a bit of a platform and maybe an inch more height fir confidence.

I've seen some expensive options from a brand called Esska. Has anyone tried these before? Wondering if they are comfortable and worth the money?

I was coming on to say Esska - also have a sale at the moment including some in teal. Charlie's are very comfortable. https://esskashoes.com/products/charlie-velvet-teal. or esskashoes.com/collections/on-sale?srsltid=AfmBOoqnpEfyABdi4_QdfwLL7doVd9O4ZJg9SDr10G7vaEWcmKoIQ1Pn would be a higher option. I find them true to size but if in doubt go down.

But can I ask why black tights? It might be harder to find something with those?

Thanks for the esska insight! Can't do a dress confidently without tights as am size 20 and need the smoothing out and bodyshaping sort ideally. Tan tights I put my fingers through in seconds and bare legs is just not for me with this type of event 😂

I see, then I'd say black closed toe shoes but thats just personal preference of matching black tights to black shoes, others would go with a colour that compliments the dress. The Viv by Esska might work but is a bit higher.

One last thought have you thought about Dancer shoes for comfort? They also often have a 20s vibe.

Patent wedge at next. Sorry can't figure link but so comfy and look suitably dressy but so comfy.
