Nice gold jewellery that doesn't fade

I'm after a couple (or more) of nice gold necklaces / sets of earrings to wear day to day.

What brands are good for this? I want them to last but don't want to spend the earth - around £50 per necklace say? (If that's realistic)

You won't get gold jewellery at that price. You might not even find gold plated silver at that price. Gold plated silver or gold plated base metal always fades.

H. Samuel is probably the cheapest, but still reputable, jeweller around. I found a small number of gold (not gold plated) earrings around that price and a couple of gold necklaces.

I don't know which, any ,of the brands that specialise in gold plated jewellery are longer lasting. If I couldn't afford gold I'd much rather wear silver than gold plated. At £50 per item, there's gazillions of choices in silver

I have quite a few pieces from D. Louise. I believe it's gold-plated stainless steel, treated with something-or-other to stop the plating from wearing off. I have a bangle from there which I've worn daily for two years and it has stayed gold and shiny. Prices are reasonable and they're always doing offers and discounts.

Thanks all, I had never heard of some of these.

In case anyone else is looking, Atolea also have some nice bits and a sale on (it's stainless steel and gold plated) with a lifetime colour guarantee. I've already got some necklaces from there which have worn really well.
