Experiences with Cider clothing?

I keep getting adverts for this company on Facebook and now I have had a look at their site, there are a few quirky items that I quite like. Anyone here know anything about them? Are they horribly unethical? What is the quality of the clothing like? Etc.

I came across Cider when looking for a linen blend skirt last year.

I ordered this one:

Cider skirt

and very happy with it. I don't know much about the company though.

There sizes are on the bigger side but I like them,

MyBigFatGreekSalad · 10/01/2025 18:09

It's basically shein, so poorly made clothes by underpaid workers in dangerous conditions.

One of my co workers ordered some bits off there and the quality was shocking!

Violetandgreen · 10/01/2025 18:09

I've ordered a couple of nice things from them. No issues.

Tinytigertail · 10/01/2025 18:12

I haven't heard anything about them from an ethical standpoint, but my DD has some really nice clothes from here. Price wise, they are not Shein cheap, but about both standard high street price.

pictoosh · 10/01/2025 18:12

They are so cheap that I can only imagine both ethics and quality to be bloody awful.
I like quite a lot of their clothes but have never bought from them.

You can't guarantee that expensive clothing isn't horrible ethics wise. Often they're made in the same factory by the same workers. You just pay extra for the name?

LivingDeadGirlUK · 10/01/2025 18:22

Some of their Ads have really caught my eye but I've not had much luck from sites like this and E5£ etc.

Cece92 · 10/01/2025 18:22

I've ordered a few dresses and love them. Very flattering too xxxx

No guarantee of course.

I bought several knitted sleeveless roll neck tops and ruched shorter tops to wear with high waisted trousers from them and love them - they wash well and don’t look cheaply made.

WonderingWanda · 10/01/2025 18:53

Cheaply made, cheap materials and poor cut / fit, bad for the environment.

SoScarletItWas · 10/01/2025 18:56

I don’t agree that they are Shein level of crap, either price or quality. I have a couple of top/skirt co-offs and they are very well made. Mismatched in terms of skirts are generous and tops relatively small, but I’m a busty hourglass and I’m sure they are cut for Asian figures!

Ethically questionable, I’m sure, hence I only ever ordered once before I knew much about them.

sonjadog · 10/01/2025 19:34

Thanks for the answers! That sounds more positive than I thought. I was thinking that they might be like Shein (not that I have ever bought from Shein, but I have heard about their reputation).

So many fashion brands score very poorly on ethical audits so it's hard to choose high street or on-line brands if ethics are your priority. I have bought a few things from Cider and I've loved them actually. A jumpsuit and a pinafore type dress. I would buy from them again.
