I'm after a simple, uncomplicated mascara which is hypoallergenic (very sensitive skin / eyes) and cleans off easily. Happy to buy the matching remover liquid.

Thank you!

My go to faithful for the past 20 years has been Clinique lash power - in onyx, or brown, which I tend to wear now. It goes on smoothly every time, is a tubing mascara so doesn't flake or smudge but comes off easily with warm water. I wear lenses and have sensitive eyes and it's never let me down or caused issues.

I love L'Oréal Panorama.

deeahgwitch · 07/01/2025 09:51

I think I have the most sensitive eyes in the world when it comes to eye make.
I'm finding Clarins Supra mascara brilliant - I got a small tube free with a Clarins skincare purchase. I do hope when I buy it in the larger size it will be the same.
I love love Chanel Le Volume but it is very expensive.
There are very few eye make up removers I can use without my eye lids swelling up but Avene eye make up remover has been consistently good.
It's a pity it's so expensive though, compared with Simple/Loreal/Garnier/ Body Shop eye make up removers /micellar water which I have a reaction to. Sad

I have the L'oreal Panorama and I prefer the Clarins Supra.

I use a tubing mascara as it really helps minimise the irritation to my eyes + no panda eyes which has always been a huge problem for me.

I'm currently using Elf lash xtender & find it v good

VerySweatyBetty1 · 07/01/2025 13:46

Oooh, what's tubing mascara?

(I'm currently using Clinique but got the waterproof version (for a funeral where, you know, i thought I might cry) and it's impossible to get off easily even with their own-brand liquid remover! )

Great to have these suggestions - thank you!

Maybelline Sky High mascara is good, and a reasonable price point.

StormingNorman · 07/01/2025 13:50

Max Factor Masterpiece

I’m not sure if it’s hypoallergenic but my eyes are sensitive (can’t use any eye creams without them streaming like Niagara Falls) and it’s fine for me.

If removing waterproof mascara use baby oil. Works a treat.
I do love L'Oréal Panorama but prefer YSL lash clash.

LadyLolaRuben · 07/01/2025 13:57

Elf Big Mood is great

Tubing mascara washes off with warm water and involves less rubbing around my eyes so I prefer it to regular. Kevin Aucoin, The Volume Mascara has been my go to for a couple of years now. It doesn’t give massive lashes but more of a natural look and has a lovely thin wand.

This is what I was going to recommend. They do it in black too. It is one of the very few products I repurchase time and time again. Mac play gigablack or something like that is simialr but the clinique comes in the brown and I don't know if mac does.

I struggled with the tube of that one. I might have had a dud but it got VERY messy

Boots No7 Stay Perfect tubing mascara. Perfect for my very dry lasered eyes and so easy to remove. Just soak two cotton wool pads in warm water and place on the eyes then draw down slowly. No rubbing required.
It's only £15 so not the end of the world if it doesn't suit you.
It might not be enough for a glam night out but it's perfect for everyday use on my blonde lashes.

You only need WARM water to remove it. It's magic!

Wow! This is all very interesting!

I've used Clinique volume in the past and it's hypoallergenic and looks natural. I currently have Bare Minerals volume which is also good.

And it stays on in the rain it's just warm water so you can use a cotton pad soaked in warm water or a flannel even
