Can anyone recommend anything to strengthen finger nails? They're fragile & split & break very easily. There's so many products & supplements that claim to help but thought personal recommendations would be useful.
I already take biotin which has really helped my menopausal hair shedding. Thyroid has been tested & is ok.
Thank you 🙂

Sally Hansons hard as nails is just as good as more expensive versions and a fraction of the price.

Thanks, I'd been thinking of trying this so I'll give it a go.

I agree with Sally Hanson but have also had really good results with Nailtiques. I get it from Amazon. OPI Nail Envy I’ve found no use at all.
Whatever you decide I’ve found the best method is to apply two coats on the first day, then add another coat on top every day for a week before removing it with a gentle remover & starting again.

Jojoba oiling at least twice a day too.

You could try builder/colour gel.

No idea why my reply was immediately hidden considering I just suggested jelly cubes as they contain collagen and have worked for me.

DeliciousApples · 06/01/2025 19:42

Maybe someone thought jelly was drugs.

Check out The Salon Life on Youtube. I sometimes feel people might think I’m her the amount of times I have recommended her, but her advice has changed my nails for the better. I had BIAB which wrecked my nails.

She recommends jojoba oil for the health of the cuticles and the skin around the nails and then warm jojoba oil soaks to help strengthen the nails.

I have an Essie one that I wear as a base coat under nail polish and it does seem to help. I'm not sure if it's doing anything for my nails overall though o rjust helping to stop them from splitting in the short term.

I’m growing mine after acrylics and it’s taken a while but finally getting there. I’ve always used Sally Hansen Maximum Growth and the method is a pp said. Two coats to start with, then a coat on every day until a week is up, clean off, tidy with gentle filing then start again
if works really well.
I also agree Nail Envy does nothing! Poor product!

Vaseline rubbed in at bed time. Keeps them strong but supple.
