Boots that don't eat your socks

I'm looking for a pair of brown ankle boots that are hard wearing and don't pull your socks off when you walk in them. I like docs but can only wear them with dm socks. All other socks end up bunched around my toes.

I could spend up to £250 for the right.pair so long as they will last a good few years.

Any ideas?

What sort of socks are you wearing? It’s the type of socks that cause them to bunch, rather than the boots.

Agree it's the socks not the boots. Maybe you need sock suspenders 😆

Basically any socks that aren't dm socks. I like ankle length socks from Uniqlo for example, like their heat tech socks or similar. I don't really want to have to wear really thick tight socks every time I want to wear boots.

Any socks recommendations?

I wear ones with wool - nothing synthetic or they just slip down. I also have a couple of pairs of merino anti blister socks from Trespass that don’t slip - they’re really good. Go for ones that are higher than ankle socks too.

I don’t know about sock recommendations….but I wear regular bamboo ankle socks (Powder, Wrendale) with my Fly boots and I never have issues.
I’ve had my boots for ages so not certain but think they might be Salv. They have lots of styles though.

Thanks, I like the look of the Fly boots. I will go to Covent Garden armed with a variety of socks to wear.

I will try some wool socks as well though I prefer not to wear hiking style socks unless I'm wearing walking boots.

Socks suspenders ... maybe pass on that one 😀
