Coatigan for funeral

I'm thinking of this Coatigan for a funeral. The departed expressed the wish we not wear too much black. I want to wear a green skirt suit with a bright red ribbed sweater underneath. She liked this particular sweater and red in general. It's going to be really cold and I don't have a suitable top coat that either would not clash with the red or just be an old not very nice coat. What do you think of this ? Poss without the scarf.

Thanks everyone so far. It's so tricky knowing what to put on over a suit. My grey coat would do up, North Face padded definitely not and velvet coat wrong colour
