Cool urban (black obvs) backpack needed

I’ve been struggling with this and would be grateful for any pointers. I’m looking for a backpack that looks sleek enough to use at work, is nylon rather than leather, can fit a Mac Air in (cliche that I am) AND has a zipped pocket where the straps are to defeat pick pockets. Bonus points if it’s cheap(ish) and isn’t by a well-known brand… thank you if you’ve managed to get to the end of this list of sartorial demands…

it isn't cheap but the nordace ones last ages Nordace Siena - Smart Backpack

They’re not particularly cheap but I’d go to Sandqvist for this, and they do have a sale on.

Have a look at Rains. Their products are good, but I’m not sure how they stand on the pocket issue.

I've got my eye on this one from Marks and Spencer.

Thank you all so much. I have found my experts. I’m having a fantastic time researching them (Belroy is currently in the lead with konomo in second place… although tbh, I love them all…)

There are a lot of Black Bantrys getting no love on the roka thread.

Probably meets your spec too.

Heavybuthopeful · 05/01/2025 00:11

Roka Finchley has the hidden pocket you mentioned.
