Styling help for this dress?

How would you wear this for a fancy party or wedding in the spring? Shoes, bag, etc? Colours?
Jewellery will either be silver coloured or a mix of gold and silver (I know gold would probably go better).
I want shoes with some height, but can't do proper big heels.
Thanks!

What a gorgeous dress!
Maybe some Esska heels. They have lots of rich colour velvets and metallics that would look great with this.

It's lovely but I would save it for autumn personally.

Definitely wearing it, definitely spring/summer

Came here to say this!

Also, Joe Browns did some similar velvet sandals to Esska but quite a bit cheaper. I got some amazing orange ones. Both brands have quite high heels but they’re very chunky so much easier to wear than you’d imagine.

Fab dress OP.

I'd find that really hard to style for Spring/Summer, gorgeous dress but it would be an Autumn/Winter option for me

AreYouShittingMe · 03/01/2025 13:15

That's a stunning dress- no idea how to style it, just very envious!

There's a colour scheme I'm fitting in with.
Fabric is light and floaty, not heavy.

I think go for gold or silver sandals if it’s spring/summer, maybe a grey sparkly short cardigan with short sleeves. Then pick out the green? Navy? Background for a clutch bag.

Shrinkingrose · 03/01/2025 13:24

The dress is made of a lovely material op, gorgeous colours. I’d wear copper or gold shoes/accessorries, or nude.

NewNameNoelle · 03/01/2025 13:28

Beautiful dress. Would you mind sharing where it is from?

I’d also go for some coppery metallic shoes, I like Bobbies for elegant but not too high. Not sure what your hair is like but the dress suggests, to me, long flowing boho curls perhaps with the front bits pinned back. Soft and gorgeous

DelphiniumBlue · 03/01/2025 13:38

Gold or bronze shoes , gold jewellery, silver won't work with the colours in that dress.
Or you could go funky with red or orange shoes!
The dress itself is so lovely, it doesn't need much in the way of accessories. I think big earrings and maybe a green velvet choker could work, or a big necklace and smaller earrings.

Bignanna · 03/01/2025 14:07

The colours are autumnal, and lovely for an autumn wedding

Looks like Zapaka, £82. If I’d seen that in time I would have bought it for a wedding last November!

TwylaAllAlong · 03/01/2025 15:16

It's from Leely and they can make to custom measurements which is handy for me as I'm a tricky shape. Not very expensive.

They also had something similar in blue and silver and I did see a version in red and navy somewhere on the internet.

It's a family wedding (I'll be officiating!) and I'm wearing a particular heirloom pendant which is silver rather than gold coloured so that can't be helped, I could go with gold bracelets though.

Weirdly found those platform Esska shoes everyone loves very uncomfortable but I'll check out similar alternatives.

My hair is thick and naturally does the boho curl thing so that would be easy!

Bag - something metallic?

Oh, I see why it can't wait until autumn now, then!

I was thinking you'd stick out among the guests for a spring wedding, but since that's kind of the point, then it's ideal!

Are you able to wear the heirloom pendant for the ceremony then switch it out for the reception? Or can the pendant be swapped onto a different chain?

If not, I wouldn't add more silver jewellery, but I also wouldn't go for gold bracelets. Maybe something copper-coloured, or just a nice watch and no bracelets?

TwylaAllAlong · 03/01/2025 15:45

Yes, I'm complying with the overall colour scheme which has been quite tricky but hey I like a challenge. The other officiant will be in a similar coppery colour.

I'll try the pendant on a gold chain, it's diamonds and platinum so might look weird but worth a go.

EmotionalSupportBiscuit · 03/01/2025 16:31

@TwylaAllAlong could you try the pendant on a teal velvet ribbon? So you’re not trying to match the metals but match the frock?

LonginesPrime · 03/01/2025 16:34

Good idea - or even a black ribbon to match the dress.

hoarahloux · 03/01/2025 16:50

Has the dress actually arrived yet OP? Judging by the trustpilot reviews and the dress being sold on a number of different websites, I'd have a backup plan in place.

It is beautiful. I have a top in a very, very similar fabric that came from Shein...

TwylaAllAlong · 03/01/2025 18:14

Yeah I have it already and it was made to my measurements. Presumably the fabric is inexpensive and being used by a number of places but the dress is all good.
