How do I find my style?

I just don’t feel I have one. I’m starting to get there in terms of decorating our house (although not really as I find it hard to tie it all together) but I’ve no idea what I actually like clothes wise. I feel I need a style version of an eye test where I’m given two options and have to say which I better for me until it is narrowed down.

I don’t have the time or confidence to go to a personal shopper so where would be a good place for me to start? I tried thinking of people who I always think look nice but I don’t really notice.

It has not bothered me before but I’m losing weight and finding a bit more interest in clothes as I go.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom!

Silly as it sounds, try taking one of the online quizzes like this What is your personal style? and then popping in the answer you get into pinterest. That can give you an idea of where to start/ what sort of clothes you are looking for! I still swear by in person shopping if possible, I like being able to try clothes on there and then, but if that feels overwhelming then sites like ASOS are good for putting in the answer you get from the quiz, and bringing things up.

Start with your feet. What style shoes do you wear most often through choice? What ones would you prefer to wear? That's the base of your style.

I nearly fell down on the first question where it asks for my favourite accessory…I have/wear none on the list. I went with watch despite not owning one as it is the least fussy of the options. Then I wasn’t keen on any of the shoes and didn’t know who most of the style icons were (I am worse than I even thought I was at this) but googling them, found I really like Stevie Nick’s outfits which is a good start.

Results show I haven’t a clue…though can see easily what I am not keen on.

I live in converse and Chelsea boots. But likely as these suit my job best. I often admire a pair of dark blue suede Chelsea boots…
