Recommend a classy perfume - one for night, one for day

I want to try some new perfumes thanks to vouchers, but not sure what to try.
Given the cost, I don't want to waste money on something I won't like.

I'm 49, so afraid of young sales girls who will see me as ancient and only suggest something matronly which I am not but then google things and sometimes feel they are for jet-setting 20 year olds which I am not either!

I was reading the glossy 4x4 style thread and I was wondering what perfume do the people wear who are have the capsule wardrobe of well fitted clothes and glossy hair (I actually naturally do well in the latter department, but not so much the former - my style is more "rushed"!).

I treated myself to a Juliette has a gun perfume for my birthday. On me the smell lingers and deepens (Jo malone is lovely but disappears on me really quickly). Adore it.

I like Lacoste Femme for daytime and either Boss Alive! or YSL Cinema or Michael Kors Sexy Amber for evenings. You could wear the Alive! for daytime too if you liked stronger scents.

Its what you like and that's it, basically. I've tried so many perfumes I feel im supposed to like and nothing or, worse, total scrubbers. Literally, its in the hundreds of samples and, of those, I've found about 3 I actually love, to add to my existing favourites. It's a very short list, and some of them arent massiveky well regarded, but I'm kind of accepting it now:

Givenchy L'interdit (always feel very put together when I wear it, almost, dare I say it, French?)
Prada Infusion de Rhubarbe
Lush American Cream
Baccarat Rouge (everyone seems to hate this one but me)
Guerlain Shalimar (like some kind of crack to me)
And, my holy grail - Guerlain Insolence.

To be fair, I've never actually met a Guerlain that i didn't like.

Other than the above, I quite like Prada Paradoxe but not enough to buy it. Ditto Angel's Share by Kilian.

Absolutely don't get Kayali. I've tried so many and they just smell like Impulse body spray to me? Great bottles though.

I wear Un Jardin sur Le Nile by Hermes in the day (fresh citrus smell and unisex) and Patchouli Paris by Guerlain in the evenings (gorgeous musky smell apparently inspired by whore’s bedrooms!).

I wear a few.
Narciso Rodriguez poudre - sweet and powdery floral, jasmine, woody base,
guerlain champs elysees - rose, mimosa, blackcurrant
try out different ones. They might smell different on you than on other people.
you may not have this issue, but I find very strong perfumes give me a migraine. So things like alien, poison, samsara, jpg are a no go for me.
