Electric diffuser help

I have a Neom Wellbeing Pod (which is out of warranty.)

It just smells awful. Any tips on how to stop this, or do I just need to get rid of it now?

I have tried cleaning it out, giving it a soak with dilute disinfectant, wiping it, leaving it to dry etc.

However nothing I have tried works - every time I use it, it has this horrible musty scent. It sort of smells like an oil I used to use in it, combined with a musty hoover bag.

It doesn’t look mouldy. I just think it’s a difficult item to keep clean due to the oiliness of the diffuser scents, the silicone parts, the nooks and crannies etc.
