bought a top from vinted, new with tags love the top but it stinks of smoke. Didnt know the seller was a smoker wouldn’t of bought it if I had. Is it worth trying to get the smell out or should I bin it. Already washed it but thats not worked.

Try white vinegar in your softener drawer, extra rinse. Should take it out.

Thanks I had some of that in as well. Got no bicarbonate of soda I know people say that as well.

Return it. Seriously. These kinds of things rarely wash out.

If things arrive from Vinted smelling of smoke, Febreze, laundry detergent, perfume or anything else, I return citing that there was no mention of any 'fragrance' stated in the listing and as such, item wasn't as described and did not meet my expectations.

Sellers refund each and every time. They know their item stinks and are hoping the buyer will just accept without questioning it.

Will cost you more to return it I expect. Just wash it in bio detergent on a long wash, it'll be fine.

Make sure you leave a review. Smoke smell is disgusting, we even had to throw away the Xmas card from PIL as it stunk of smoke!!
But agree with others, try washing with vinegar and bicarbonate.
