Long hair - front or back?

Totally a non question, but if you have long hair, do you wear it in front of your shoulders or behind?
I am a strictly behind person (and mostly tied up because it just gets in the way - quite why I have long hair I don't know).
If you wear it in front, how do you manage it - for context, I am spending the evening with someone who wears it to the front and I wince every time she's near a candle/my food!

To the back. I find it looks weird to the front.

menopausalfart · 31/12/2024 22:31

I wear it up because I can't stand it in my face. I also really dislike it on my neck, so I might as well shave it again.

FabuIous · 31/12/2024 22:32

Some of mine ends up at the front. And some stays at the back.

All of mine goes round and over the front of my right shoulder!

PiastriThePastry · 31/12/2024 22:39

I guess wherever it falls but generally front. Or some front some back?? It’s rare that it’s all completely pushed back anyway.

Fluffywig · 31/12/2024 23:27

Same, except for the “again” part

AlteredStater · 31/12/2024 23:52

All round - so some is at the back, some at the front. I never catch it back now, used to wear a pony tail but just don't now. Doesn't bother me at all, keeps me warm!

Front

Dilbertian · 01/01/2025 03:16

If the weather's hot, or if I'm doing anything that makes me feel hot, then my hair is tied up. If I'm doing something that requires me to concentrate with my head down, eg working on a puzzle or building flatpack, my hate is tied up. If I'm cooking, my hair is tied up - always. (Hair down when cooking? Ewww!)

Other than that, my hair is down. I don't tend to notice if it's in front of my shoulders or behind. Possibly the layering distributes the weight evenly.

Both it goes at the front and back although I plait it to one side most of the time

jay55 · 01/01/2025 04:00

Mostly it's tied up, but both when down, I have a lot of hair.

mine goes into a long side plait over my left shoulder

It's just the safety/tidy aspect I have problems with. I should unclench - and buy my friend one of those fancy puffy wrap things as a fashion (hygiene) statement!

I find long loose hair to be a bit ick. Mine is just above shoulders and I still pull it back for cooking and chores. I have a co-worker who often rakes her fingers through her long hair and lets the loose strands fall to the floor, yuk. At least she should put the in the bin.
