Lovely bubble baths or bars?

I put this on my Christmas list. Didn't get any from any of my useless relatives. What should I get myself?
I like florals, nothing too intense, I do like Lush style bubble bars but won't buy from them. I keep seeing bars on Etsy that are "unicorn" or "fabulous" scent which is massively unhelpful. Don't like violets, sandalwood.

The soap house do them in a variety of scents . What is wrong with Lush?

drspouse · 31/12/2024 22:02

They never met a bandwagon they didn't like e.g. trans ideology, Palestine, and even a local traffic reduction scheme!

The Palestine bandwagon? Ok...

But back to bath bombs. This is an interesting read https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_bomb

Mio liquid yoga bath soak (think it's on sale on look fantastic) really relaxing
Dove restoring care (amazing for the price)
Feather and down for an evening sleepy one
Space NK do their own brand which has a nice range of scents in bath and matching shower gel/hand wash etc

drspouse · 31/12/2024 22:28

Not bombs - bars.

It's possible to have compassion for innocent civilians in both Israel and Palestine but Lush don't seem to think so.

Oh and there's always this. If it's your first job would you feel able to say no?

Oh these bandwagons, genocide and the like. Enjoy your bubble bath.

klimtchakra · 31/12/2024 22:31

Is this actually about bubble bars or just an excuse to slag off Lush/Palestine?

Well I'm happy to slag off Lush but I just mentioned I didn't want something from them, I didn't say why till I was asked.
Do I need a reason not to buy from someone?

@fivebyfivebuffy Feather and Down look amazing.

I like rituals and espa. I like strong scents and perfumes. I also love Neom but thats very expensive.

fivebyfivebuffy · 31/12/2024 22:52

Feather and down do a melting shower cream that's lovely too, usually on offer in boots

Greywhippet · 31/12/2024 22:59

Bravo for Lush! I wish I liked their products more as you’ve made it sound as if they definitely deserve my money.
Find it hard to see opposing genocide as a ‘bandwagon’
Anything by any part of L’Oréal is fab if you want a conscience free bathe

Hyperquiet · 31/12/2024 23:08

LOVE lush bubble bars. I'm going to buy their watermelon soap next.

arlequin · 31/12/2024 23:10

White company is amazing

CoffeeBeansGalore · 31/12/2024 23:16

L'Occitane lavender bath foam.

Diplidocus4 · 31/12/2024 23:18

#flushlush also will never buy again after that campaign

Badaedas horse chestnut is fabulous
All L'Occitiane
Sanctuary

drspouse · 31/12/2024 23:24

I'd forgotten about Badedas - The Soap House appear to do a dupe.

@Hyperquiet it's very strong smelling. DS loves it and you can smell it all over the house.

Didn't know about Lush and Palestine, will avoid them now too.

I second L'Occitane and ESPA

Neals yard women’s bath foam is lush

ToweringDiscoInferno · 31/12/2024 23:41

Ooh sorry that was a bit of a faux pas 🤣 Neal’s Yard Women’s Bath Foam is lovely. No mention of Lush here, no sirree!!

coralsky · 31/12/2024 23:42

Neals yard! Badedas is v reasonable considering you need a tiny amount it lasts forever.
Waitrose own brand used to be surprisingly good too - I loved the clementine and ginger although they've changed the formula now.

drspouse · 31/12/2024 23:54

Have just indulged with a few bottles from LF and will have a relaxing new year!
