Updating my makeup

I’ve been wearing the same makeup for 30 years- just. a bit of primer/foundation and then a brown lipfinity. I used to wear eyeshadow and mascara but gave up when I became very short sighted.

I'm now 53 and want to update my look. I’m getting a magnifying mirror and determined to change things a bit. I have good skin with a few wrinkles around my mouth ( despite never smoking). I never used blusher as I used to be very rosy cheeked, but I think I could try it now. I’ve also never touched my eyebrows.

could anyone give me any ideas/books/websites for inspiration and technique? My style is definitely vintage, and I’m autumnal in colouring. Thank you!

I just updated my make up bag after turning 50 a couple of months ago.

I like Lisa Eldridge. I also spent a bit of time on Insta just looking for make up tutorials randomly - I wanted a natural Quick Look for mature skin for example or a hooded eye tutorial.

Things I have done include switching to eborian cc cream rather than a foundation - like you my skin is reasonable and just needs evening out so this feels less heavy.

I have given up on eye shadow because my eyes are fairly hooded now and I can't get it to look good despite all the tutorials. I do line my upper lash line though. Always lipstick and brown mascara and I do shape and tint my brows.

I can be done and out the house in 10 mins but look that bit more polished.
